In adapting, to the specificities of the Japanese D&D field projects, some proven advanced technologies from Orano using the site service experience of ATOX, ANADEC provides quickly effective solutions to solve difficult challenges that domestic technologies couldn’t solve until now
We are continuing develop technologies to meet the needs of our customers in maximizing ANADEC portfolio and field engineering capability.

By aggregating proven decommissioning technologies implemented in reactors and nuclear fuel cycle facility D&D with domestic site service experience, ANADEC can support decommissioning or remediation work for challenging situations:

ANADEC is developing new solutions either standalone or by teaming with other Japanese Nuclear Engineering Companies aiming at introducing proven decommissioning technologies to the Japanese market.

Case StudyNew seawater purification technology

As a subsidized company of the “Project of Decommissioning and Contaminated Water Management (Demonstration Project for Technologies for Capturing Radioactive Substances from Seawater)” in the FY2013 Supplementary Budget by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, we conducted verification tests for the purification removal performance of the Strontium and the Cesium. Based on a proved purification device (NYMPHEA), we developed a prototype of a new adsorbent and we performed hot test to examine the capture of Cs and Sr in seawater environment, which established the effective adsorption method of Cs and Sr. To take advantage of this technology, we will continue to contribute to the reconstruction of the Fukushima in the future.

Case Study Radioactive contaminated soil purification technology

As a subsidized company of the “Project of Decommissioning and Contaminated Water Management (Demonstration Project for Technologies for Capturing Radioactive Substances from Soil)” in the FY2013 Supplementary Budget by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, we conducted verification tests to evaluate the potential efficiency of the Permeable Reactive Barrier used to capture ionic radioactive Strontium from groundwater. We confirmed in laboratory the applicability of this technology to the soil of the Fukushima Daiichi NPP. To take advantage of this technology, we will continue to contribute to the reconstruction of the Fukushima in the future.

Case StudyConceptual study of an alternative method for the fuel debris removal

Based on the situation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, by taking advantage of the field experience of ATOX and the rich decommissioning experience of AREVA, we did a conceptual study of a method to perform the fuel debris removal from Daiichi NPP and we built a scenario accordingly for the fuel debris removal alternative method of the FY2013 supplementary budget “decommissioning-contaminated water measures project cost subsidy (concept study business) of alternative method for fuel debris removal” by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy.
